Admission for Reception Classes – School Year 2025 – 2026
(For children born between 1st September 2020 – 31st August 2021)

If you child was born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021 you can apply for a place for your child to start Elmwood Infant School’s Reception class from the school year 2025 – 2026. To apply for a place, visit https://www.croydon.gov.uk/admissions. We admit 120 pupils into our reception classes. 

Completed forms must be returned by Tuesday 15th January 2025

Admission for Nursery Classes – School Year 2025 – 2026
(For children born between 1st September 2021 – 31st August 2022)

If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 you can register for a place at our Nursery. 

Please ensure you bring the following: Child’s FULL birth certificate and proof of your home address (Mortgage agreement, an up-to-date council tax letter or tenancy agreement).

Once completed you will need to return these to the school office, with the documents listed above.

Year 2 (Infants) to Year 3 (Junior) Transfer

If your child is currently in Year 2, you must apply by 15th January 2025 for a junior school place.

Key points to remember:
There is no automatic transfer from Elmwood Infant School to Elmwood Junior School (or any other Junior School)
– Carefully read the admissions criteria for the junior school(s) that you wish to apply for,
– Junior schools give priority within their admissions criteria to children who are on the roll of their linked infants school. Our linked school is Elmwood Junior School.

In-Year Admissions
If you wish to move your child to our school, or apply for a space which is outside the normal starting time of September, then you must apply online via the Croydon Council website at https://www.croydon.gov.uk/admission
