School Closure on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th October

I am writing to let you know that the school will be closed on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th October to all children so that staff can complete mandatory training in First Aid.

Before schools closed in March, a significant number of staff were in the process of renewing their training in Paediatric First Aid and First Aid at Work. The delivery of this three-day training course was then
suspended due to lockdown.

It is a mandatory requirement for schools to have staff trained in First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid and this must be renewed every three years. Usually we are able to manage this three-day training programme by releasing staff and using some of the smaller rooms within our school.

However, with social-distancing requirements and a need to minimise staff movement across year groups, we have no choice but to organise this as soon as possible across two days in October.
