We are aware of the weather warning that is in place for London and the South East for this evening – Thursday 31st January.
Weather is very hard to predict, and we will make every effort to let you know if it is necessary to close the school for safety reasons. Any decision about school closure is likely to be made at around 7am. You can keep up-to-date with the weather via the MetOffice and by keeping an eye on your local conditions.
IF is is necessary to close the school, we will let you know by:
- An update will be posted on this website. If the school website is unavailable due to a spike in traffic our opening status will also be available on:
- https://opencheck.atomwide.com – select ‘Croydon’ then ‘Elmwood Infant School’. You can also download the Atomwide App for your smart device to receive updates directly to that device. Follow the links on the bottom of the OpenCheck website.
- An update will be shared on the school’s Twitter Account @ElmwoodInfants
- A text message will be sent to the first contact we have on our system for each child. If we have an old or incorrect mobile number, please speak to the school office.
- Check with friends who also have children who attend our school.
